We’re really proud to share a new project that’s been quietly in the works for a while now – and the first video is out.
We’ve been working with Neil Chakraborti, Catherine Parry, and the team at the Institute for Policy at the University of Leicester to produce a series of short-form videos that bring their Policy Briefing Papers to life. We’re producing an initial collection of nine videos, releasing fortnightly, each one a 60-90-second distillation of important, evidence-based research – covering everything from space weather to maternal health, land use to SEND education.
The first video is live now. Professor Suzie Imber tackles a question most people haven’t thought to ask: how vulnerable are we to the effects of space weather? It’s a brilliant opener for the series, and her full briefing paper goes much deeper if you want to explore further.
The first five videos were filmed at the University of Leicester, Space Park Leicester, and the Attenborough Arts Centre, and all three locations bring a real character and distinction to the footage. It was a brilliant day, and one that wouldn’t have gone nearly as well without the thorough groundwork laid by Catherine and Jack Willoughby beforehand. A big thank you also to Alex Panton on the University of Leicester video team for all his support on the project.
It helps that this isn’t our first project with Neil. A few years ago, we produced Hidden Hate, a podcast series for the Centre for Hate Studies, and that collaboration is one we’ve always been really proud of. When he approached us with this brief, taking important, world-leading research and turning it into something people will watch and share, we were thrilled.
The topics coming up in the series span land use and Net Zero policy, Black maternal health disparities, SEND education, and postpartum care for women with gestational diabetes. Important subjects, handled by researchers who clearly care about the real-world impact of their work.

We’ll be sharing more as the series rolls out – stay tuned.
